AIDEN – ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DATASCIENCE ENGINEERS NETWORK

The Technical Association of AI and Data Science was established in 2022 at MEA Engineering College. This innovative initiative reflects the college's commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements and addressing the growing significance of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science in the realm of AI. The association serves as a dynamic platform for students and faculty to engage in collaborative research, hands-on projects, and knowledge exchange related to AI and data science applications in the field. By fostering an environment that encourages exploration and experimentation, the association aims to empower students with the skills and insights necessary to navigate the intersection, automation, and cutting-edge data-driven technologies. Through seminars, workshops, and industry partnerships, the Technical Association strives to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications, preparing students for the evolving landscape of engineering in the 21st century.

Established Year: December 1 – 2022
Staff Co-ordinator: Assis. Prof. Ayisha Thahira C H
Students Co-ordinator: Mr. Mohammed Rashid

Internship

The AD Department conducted a 2-week internship program at Docker Vision starting on July 26, 2024, focusing on computer vision, deep learning, and generative AI for the 2021-2025 batch, where participants worked on individual projects and successfully completed them.

Association Inauguration

Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science inauguration was commenced on 1st Dec 2022 in seminar hall. The logo unveiling ceremony of the AD association was beheld with great excitement and eagerness by the honourable Chief guest Mr. Umer Abdussalam CEO-edapt. Name of the association was decided in the event as AIDEN(Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Engineers Network)- An Instance if rising through AI.A Tech talk session was handled by Mr.Umer Abdussalam which was very helpful for the students to understand the scope of AI and the basics areas on which we have to focus more.

Machine Learning and Data Analysis Workshop

AD Department successfully organized its inaugural Outcome-Based 3-day workshop on "Machine Learning with Python" in collaboration with "EduTecnicia" from September 22, 2023, to September 24, 2023. This workshop was inclusive, involving all students from the 2021 and 2022 batches.

During the workshop, every participant actively engaged in demonstrating a Microproject centered around machine learning and data analysis. This hands-on approach aimed at providing practical insights and fostering a deeper understanding of the concepts covered in the workshop. The event marked a significant step towards enhancing the students' skills and practical application of machine learning techniques.

AIDEN Day 23

AIDEN Day 23 ,an annual event organized by the ARTIFICIAL Intelligence and Data science Engineers Network(AIDEN)at MEA Engineering College. Ms. Athira M., Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at "Docker Vision," graced the occasion by inaugurating the Association day programmes on December 4, 2023. During the event, she delivered an insightful tech-talk focused on Computer Vision. Ms. Athira M.'s expertise and knowledge in the field undoubtedly added value to the program, providing valuable insights and updates to the participants. This occasion marked an enriching start to the Association day programmes, showcasing the commitment of MEA Engineering College to fostering industry connections and providing students with exposure to cutting-edge technologies.

Robotics Boot-Camp

AD Department, in collaboration with Unique World Robotics, successfully conducted a Robotics boot camp. This event served as a curtain-raiser for the NASA Space App Programme and took place on September 21, 2023. The boot camp aimed to provide participants with hands-on experience and insights into robotics, setting the stage for further engagement in the NASA Space App Programme. This initiative reflects the college's commitment to fostering innovation and preparing students for challenges in the field of space exploration and technology.

Microproject Competition

Following the Machine Learning workshop, AD department organized a Microproject competition, providing a platform for students to apply their newly acquired skills. The competition culminated in the selection of two outstanding project groups. To recognize and reward their exemplary work, cash prizes were awarded to these selected groups. This initiative not only incentivized participation but also encouraged a high level engagement and excellence in the practical application of machine learning concepts.
