On 12th April 2023, a one-day hands-on training on 3D printing was organized by the IEI Students Chapter of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Department Seminar Hall. The primary objective of the training was to familiarize students with the advancements in 3D printing technology and its potential applications in the manufacturing and development sectors. Mr. Christambar True Man, a seasoned Prototype Engineer, conducted an enlightening session on the evolution and development of 3D printing technology. The talk emphasized the transformative impact of 3D printing in various industries and its potential to revolutionize traditional manufacturing processes. Participants gained valuable insights into the wide-ranging applications of 3D printing, from aerospace and automotive to healthcare and consumer goods. In the afternoon session, Mr. Christambar True Man provided hands-on training on 3D printing software commonly used in the industry. Participants learned how to create and modify 3D models, preparing them for the printing process. The students exhibited enthusiastic participation throughout the training, actively engaging in the hands-on activities and interactive sessions. Their curiosity and eagerness to learn were commendable. After the training, a feedback session was held, where the participants expressed their appreciation for the well-organized and informative event. During the event, the IEI Students Chapter distributed membership certificates to the newly enrolled members
IEI WEBINAR SERIES (2021)– IEI STUDENTS CHAPTER
The IEI students’ chapter of the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a 3 day IEI Webinar Series during 27th – 30th March 2021. The topics included Wastewater and Plastic Management and heat transfer application in medical diagnostics delivered by eminent personalities from SCTIMST, SJCET and IIT Kharagpur.
IEI WEBINAR SERIES (2020)– IEI STUDENTS CHAPTER – “IDEA TO PRODUCT METAMORPHOSIS”
The IEI students chapter, Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a 3 day webinar from 25th to 27th August 2020 which covered topics on Idea to Product Metamorphosis, Design Considerations of a Robotic Exoskeleton and its present challenges and An overview on metal matrix composites of which the resource persons included eminent scientists from KSCSTE TVM and Professors from various Engineering Colleges. The resource persons Dr. Ajit Prabhu V (Chief Scientist and Head, TDPM, KSCSTE, Dr. Jobin Varghese, Associate Professor, Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Ernakulam, and Dr. Titus Thankachan, Associate Professor, Karpagam College of Engineering, Coimbatore.
